Configuration/remodelling of the LED-strips

[ Back ]

In this tutorial, we describe the occupancy of the individual cable connections or capillary joint between the original Master Replicas LED – strips and also some redevelopment potentials.

This assignment will be a help, if for example a new cable or a new plug must be soldered or if an LED - strip is broken or no longer serviceable..
Here the wires including the plug will be unsoldered from the LED - strips and replaced by new ones, or soldered at a new strip again (if there is no wire at the other strip).

Broken LEDs:
Through regular use or by very strong shocks of the saber, some LEDs may fail. These are usually not broken, nor is it to the soldering of each LED. Often the cause lies in the small resistors or its fine solder points. So you can usually repair the failed LEDs again by resoldering these points carefully.

Another possibility would be the conversion of a saber into a different colour. The change from red to blue or from blue to red is basically no problem, because these strips have the same occupancy and are also completely identical in structure. The only difference could be in the plugs themselves, as some swords have smaller connectors, such as the Darth Maul.
At the Darth Maul you simply have to unsolder the wires and connectors and resolder them at a blue LED-strip. With a conversion of a red or blue LED-strip to a green one, there are several things you have to consider.
Due to the construction of the green LED strips, once the occupation as well as the holder of the strips itself, is completely different.

grüne LED-Leiste blaue und rote LED-Leisten

If, for example an Anakin Rots (blue LED-strip) should get conversed into a green LED-strip, you have to unsolder the wire and connector from the original strip and resolder it at the green one in the right order.

Such a conversion also requires a small alteration in the saber itself! This eliminates e.g. the original LED holder of the Anakin and instead of two metal pins, will or can only one pin be of use. Through this the saber does not lose any stability because the metal pins only serve to fix the tube and the blade bracket so that they can not twist the handle or can solve.

Occupancy of the blue and red LED strips: :
6 > blue
5 > green
4 > yellow
3 > orange
2 > red
1 > brown
+ > purple and grey (blue) Clash Sensor

Occupancy of the green LED strip (Luke ROTJ without clash sensor): :
6 > ret
5 > orange
4 > yellow
3 > green
2 > blue

Occupation / conversion to green LED strip with cable and plug of the blue / red LED strip: :
6 > bluw
5 > green
4 > yellow
3 > orange
2 > red
1 > brown
+ > purple and grey (blue) Clash Sensor

Luke ESB Luke ESB occupancy Luke ESB and Vader ESB (old model without clash sensor): :
6 > red
5 > orange
4 > yellow
3 > green
2 > blue
1 > purple

Unfortunately there are no individually LED strips to buy but whoever is on a search for some or urgently need some, can try to contact the following Email address::
