Darth Vader ANH Force FX Lightsaber (2003)
First Impression:
Just like all FX Lightsaber the Darth Vader ANH FX Lightsaber is slightly oversized but nevertheless it is accurate in most details. In comparison to the original there is nearly no difference. Merely the activator is a little bit different but the lightsaber has to be activated well. The activator is right under the D-ring on the emitter, a little black switch. Besides the hilt is a beautiful replica and also the first saber with a led-blade.
Handling:
The hilt is designed in the same way as the Vader ESB. But it works with 6 batteries instead of 3 which influences the weight and the balance. Altogether it seems a bit unhandily, some elements like the activator box and the emiter may interfere swinging a little bit. Besides the balance is very good.
Light and Sound:
Just like all the Sith lightsabers the red of the blade is not convincing. The colour is not intesive but in return it is constant and without gloomy spots. The soundmodul is from 2003/04. It contains one clashsound and four swingsounds. The sound is gentle and worthy for a Sith Lord.
Wearout:
Unfortunately the blade’s attachment is not chosen well. At the lower ending there are two big holes which affix the soundmodul at the saber. But the holes cause a predetermined breaking point, from time to time the blade breaks at this point and is not beyond repaired. Besides the plastics get a few rabbles but this is normal.
Conclusion:
The saber is not available on the market, you only get it throug ebay and co. The conversion is easy so the saber is to be recommended to people who want to carry it on the belt. However the saber should not be used for fighting. The release date of this saber was September 15, 2003
Resulting Mark: 5/10
