Mace Windu AOTC/ROTS Force FX Lightsaber (2005)
First Impression:
With the exception of a few littlenesses the Mace Windu ROTS/AOTC FX Lightsaber is made true-to-detail. Just the golden centerpiece is shorter and squattier. As usual this saber is bigger than the original but the difference is little distinct.
Handling:
The Mace Windu Lightsaber feels good in the Hand when using it because there are no unevenesses or activator buttons. Especially when doing spins, this can be a great advantage also because in addition to that there is a the rubber-grip. Unfortunately the activatorbutton is situated in the palm of the hand, so activating or deactivating the saber accidentally is not a rareness. Another dificiency is the high weight, caused by the 6 AA batteries, the saber needs to run.
Light and Sound:
The soundmodul is from 2004/05, it is quiet and classic. It features four Swing- and four Clashsounds. The violett color is not very bright, but paler than those of the Sith sabers.
Wearout:
The Wearout is the weak spot of this saber. When using it frecuenty the golden color on the element fades and the normal metallic blaze comes out. This doesn´t look good and disturbes the apperance. For dents it is less prone, but has more addiction to marks as all chromed sabers.
Conclusion:
The production of this saber laid off but until spring 2007 it will be available on the market. But due to the low price it is worthy an advisement. The disassembly is dificult and not to manage without any damages. There are two versions of the Mace Windu Lightsaber, one as AotC from 2004 and one as RotS from 2005. Both vary only with a little brighter gold and louder sounds in cause of updated speakers at the newer version.
Infamous is also the "Red Blade" misprint, an edition of the Mace AotC in another box with the red istead of purple blade.
The Mace Windu FX Saber released on august 1, 2004.
Resulting Mark: 6/10
