FX Construction Set (2007)
First Impression:
The first impression, if one releases the wrapping, is probably to those, who know the ‘normal FX’ “Oh holy sh...!!’. Plastic wherever one looks, the outsized Obi-Wan emitter catches the eye immediately and it is even made of metal! A few parts are already attached on the handle bar and the saber is more redolent of a low-priced Hasbro saber than of a piece of jewellery by Master Replicas. (...)
Handling:
The handle bar, whatever in which combination of parts feels clumsy and thick. By the plastic-components it simply does not feel familiar. However the handle bar is lightweight, because of having little metal on it. Without all attachable components the handle bar is another bit lighter and slender, actual the perfect saber to practice with. Conspicuous is the shorter blade, which is depending on liking amiss or well; that might be abandoned to everyone’s self.
Light and Sound:
One has red, blue and green as colors for assortment; depending on which color one regulates via the shifter the sound pattern changes, too. Green and blue have jedi-sounds, while red offers the usual sith-sounds. Unfortunately the LED is very pale; all three colors are indeed brighter at the emitter than all other FX-Sabers, but the light dims keenly to the top of blade.
Wearout:
Mercifully plastic can not get damaged with rabbles that much, though the six different attachable buttons are manufactured pretty economical. If one plugs or extracts them inauspiciously it may happen they are deviating. The more one inserts and excerpts them, the more this “kink” will be visible.
Fazit:
A saber, which one can build out of 20 individual parts, where even the blade color is arbitrary and which offers different sounds; what does a lightsaber-fan want more? It really is a lot of fun to switch the parts and build various sabers, but the tracts should be metal, not only emitter and end cap (Pommel). In return that the saber has been advertised in 2006 by Master Replicas, still under the name “Jedi Joe Construction Set”, this has not emerged as something “Master Replicas – Worthy”.
Resulting Mark: 4/10
