Luke Skywalker ANH Force FX Lightsaber with removable blade (2010)
First Impression:
The Luke ANH with removable blade does not differ from the 'normal' Hasbro-version of this saber optically. On top of that you will find a plug, which shall simulate the emitter with detached blade, as well as a clip to wear the saber at the hilt enclosed to this Lightsaber's version.
Handling:
As already known from the forerunner of Master Replicas and the standard version by Hasbro, this saber is acceptably light in comparison with the other FX-Lightsabers. For the saber is very well-balanced, twirls and tricks are trained very easy-going. Admittedly the sharp-edged box is really disturbing at this point - Injuries will not surprise especially in longer training sessions. The activator is integrated into the box quite well and it is handled easily, however unintentional switching on and off is nearly inevitable.
Light und Sound:
The blade is illuminated in a nice and even blue and the sounds are reproduced very clearly by the speaker. 3 new moving- and 4 clash-sounds increase the value of the new Luke ANH considerably.
Wearout:
This saber has very little wearout parts. Only the chrome-color of the emitter and the box may peel off after a while as well as the color on the glasseyes, if the saber is used regularly. The ears underneath the emitter are to be handled with caution, too, for hard blows or shocks may loosen or even break them.
Conclusion:
Due to the new features the Luke ANH has become even more interesting and bribes with the removable blade, which allows the owner to wear the saber at the hilt. This Lightsaber surely is one of the most famous and should not be missing in any collection. For collectors it is a nice addition to the FX-Lightsaber of Darth Vader that is as well available with removable blade.
