Count Dooku ROTS Force FX Lightsaber (2009)

First Impression:
At first sight one discovers immediately that the Count Dooku FX is far too thick and the curved hilt piece thereby looks more plump than actually elegant.

Especially the pommel/locking ring is a bit oversize, which catches the eye unpleasantly.
After all the nice chromium-plating and the black rubber grips compensate for this matter reasonably.

Handling:
By the use of the curved hilt, a different technique than with the normal straight FX-sabers is required, when trying to handle this saber. The Dooku can not be controlled so smoothly, for the hilt is very thick and bulky.

With a bit of practice one surely will get used to the saber's unusual form and many tricks are realizable without effort.
The balance is not bad; one gets used to the weight distribution quite soon. The activator is integrated into the hilt well; unfortunately accidental switching on and off while doing fast tricks is not a rarity.

Light und Sound:
The well-known sound of the Sith's sabers is rendered by the speaker quite well and suits the Count Dooku excellent - a bit quiet but worthy a Sith.

The blade glowing in a nice and shiny red is as bright as all the other Sith-saber.

Wearout:
This saber does not have any known wearing parts.
After all one should pay attention not to hit the long salient thorn at the emitter, for it could break or loosen, because it is attached to the hilt at only one point.

Conclusion:
The implementation of a curved hilt piece has not been realized well by Hasbro.
The elegance of the Count Dooku FX is damaged quite a bit by the hilt being too thick.
For beginners this saber is surely not recommended and for many tricks it is as well inappropriate.

For every Count Dooku- or FX-fan, who wants to enlarge their collection with a curved energy-weapon, the saber might be interesting however.
