Obi-Wan Kenobi ROTS stunt saber by eFX Review
weight: 384g, lenght: 28cm
The Lightsaber of jedi-master Obi-Wan Kenobi is delivered in a restrained black box with picture and blurb. Moreover a display is enclosed, so the saber also makes a good impression in a display case.
On the first view the Obi-Wan stunt saber by eFX seems to be crafted accurately, on a closer look, however, there are various scarcities.
The elements are not constructed properly and even the lacquering does not convince in some parts. Moreover the plate on top of the activator’s
box loosens very fast, although one can glue it again without any problems. On the other hand the shiny elements with metallic look at pommel and
clamp make a good impression and the whole eFX convinces with its shape. The authentic measures and proportions make the Obi-Wan stunt saber to a well-done replica.
Due to the producer’s information the eFX stunt saber possess a metallic core to provide firmness and resilience.
Our sponsor Toypalace cannot confirm this declaration, for there was no metal core to be found in broken sabers. Because of its shape this Lightsaber
is very delicate at the thin neck underneath the emitter. The Obi-Wan eFX stunt saber indeed presents a nice addition to costumes. However, it is not
firm enough to stand any sort of convention and is therefore recommended to be used as a collector’s saber only.
Those wanting to wear this stunt Lightsaber on the hilt, may as well feel free to do so: the saber is serially equipped with a Covertec-Wheel, so one can attach it to the hilt with the corresponding clip.
Even though this saber – due to the producer – represents a stunt saber, one cannot attach a blade into the hilt. Moreover the Obi-Wan Kenobi eFX does not
have any additional functions and is only crafted as a collector’s edition.
The saber has a tough price with 120€, which is far too much for the saber’s quality.
After all: for those, who have space left in the display case, this might be a nice and cheaper alternative to the Limited Edition sabers by Master Replicas.
