Count Dooku stunt-lightsaber by eFX
[ back ]
The stunt-lightsabers by eFX represent a cheaper alternative to the expensive and rare limited edition sabers by Master Replicas.
The sabers, that consist of resin, are all on a 1:1 scale and therefore mostly appropriate for costumes and for the showcase.
eFX Stunt Lightsaber Count Dooku Review
Weight: 287g, Length: 30cm
The Count Dooku stunt-lightsaber arrives in an appealing box colored in a fancy black. Saber and display are very fair
crafted and a nice addition, especially in the showcase.
Despite its metal optics, the saber only consists of resin, so it is considerably lighter than the limited edition by Master Replicas.
Optically these two sabers are barely different at all. The Count Dooku stunt-saber is lacquered neatly and gets very close to the
original. Pursuant to the producer every eFX has a metal core; although our sponsor Toypalace could not find one in broken eFX-sabers
and due to our own experiences as well, the saber only consists of solid resin without a metal core.
Compared with the FX-version by Hasbro it is made clear, how slimmer the original toward the FX really is. Therefore the eFX Count
Dooku stunt-lightsaber is most suitable for costumes, for it has also been crafted with a Covertec Wheel by the producer and can be
carried at the belt without any problems.
As well Dooku’s lightsaber is equipped with certain elements of hard rubber and plastic, which gives it a more authentic look.
After all the saber is not very resilient, because the resin gives the impression of being slightly fragile and therefore only
being treated with caution.
Despite the fact that it is called a stunt-saber, one cannot attach a blade within the hilt. The description is a bit misleading,
for the saber does not have any special functions, but is for costumes and showcase only.
Although the saber has a very handsome shape, a fair finish and a convincing lacquering, it is far too expensive with 120€ and
only recommended for fans or the costume’s addition.
